Student with National Honor Society

Congratulations to the new members of our Beta Alpha Iota Lambda chapter of National Honor Society!

Every year, the Brooklyn Institute for Liberal Arts recommends a select group of students for membership in the National Honor Society. Students must apply for membership; these applications are then reviewed and evaluated by a staff panel. Applicants must:

  • Be students in grades 10-12 who meet BILA’s qualifications for membership
  • Show exemplary scholarship (minimum GPA 3.0), service (community service hours in the community); leadership (ability to solve problems and contribute to groups), and character (cooperation, honesty, reliability, courtesy, etc.)

Students inducted into the honor society attend chapter meetings and commit to leading community service and outreach to benefit the school community. These students may also apply for scholarships through the National Honor Society Foundation.
